Dyad (2014)

Miami City Ballet

Collaboration with Fellows of the New World Symphony

Music by Johann Sebastian Bach

Dyad is a raw work that encompasses the music of Bach, from which it is entirely inspired. The woman represents an icon; a beacon that the men are drawn to, yet do not fully comprehend. Once she intervenes, the attention is on her. The female figure is untouchably sacred yet sensual, once she feels the touch of man. She is worshipped as both a birth mother and a sexual desire, but also as a savior and solution for everything that the male idiom lacks.
